    Bush, Camp and Bartley camped for three days
at Laurel Run and caught 148 trout ? This is the
largest catch reported for the season.
Captain Kellog, 4th U. S. Cavalry, Assistant
Inspector General, inspected the battalion on Fri
day, May 29th. After inspection two companies
went through the company drill, one executed
bayonet exercise and the other the skirmish drill.
After the battalion was dismissed the Freshmen
went through artillery drill. The rooms were
also inspected.
The civil engineering students of the senior
class, accompanied by Prof. Barnard, spent the
week beginning May 18th in camp at Galbreth's
Gap in the mountains three miles from Boals
burg. The time was spent in constructing a dam
and taking weir measurements for a supposed wa
ter supply for State College. The party returned
feeling much the better for having had the recre
ation and the experience in practical work.
Dr. Gregory, of Washington, D. C., delivered,
on the evenings of May r3th and r4th, two lec
tures on the Unification of Italy and of Germany.
The Doctor, having spent several years in Europe
in close study of the political situation and the
causes leading thereto, is peculiarly fitted to treat
the subjects named. He was listened to with the
closest attention, and all who heard him felt that
they understood as never before the state of af
fairs in these countries.
The following persons have been announced as
streakers for the Prize Rhetorical Exhibition to be
held in the chapel on Thursday evening, June
zsth.

The Installation of Alpha Chi Chapter of the
Sigma Chi Fraternity occurred in Bellefonte on
Wednesday, May 27th. The ceremonies were
conducted by members of the fraternity from
Bucknell University,Lewisburg,the and Pennsylva
nia College, Gettysburg. After the iniatory pro
ceedings all sat down to a sumptous banquet at the
Bush House. The charter members are S. G.
Crawford, John Foster and F. J. Pond of '92,
Frederick Dale, '93, W. C. Thompsom, William
Banks and P. P. Sturdevant, of '94.
The Cubic Giants of 3rd floor having challeng•
ed the Mafia of 4th floor, the two teams met on
June Ist. Mafia were vanished. The 'teams were
composed as follows :

The score was 17 to 12 in favor of the Cubic
Giants.
The sth Rhetorical exhibition was held in the
college chapel on Wednesday evening May r3th.
After a piano duet by Misses Willard and Olds the
programme of speakers was as follows : Brown, S.
H., Butts, T. H. Walker, Miss Stuart, Dunkle,
Hench, Miss Hafer, Bohn, R. G. Furst, Miss
Hunter, Walsh, Kremer, Glenn, Weld, Kyle and
Caughey.
The class of '93 played the class of '92 a match
game of base ball on Saturday, May 16th.
