Mr. Editor: I noticed in the account of the '93 versus '94 foot-ball game, which appeared in the recent issue of the FREE LANCE, that it was stated that "considering both teams the soph's really lost the game by their lack of practice." Such a statement is a mistake and unfair to '94. It is known to all that both teams practiced their hardest previous to the game and it is but justice . to both elevens to state that the sophs lost the game not by lack of practice but by the superior strength or playing of their opponents. PERSONALS. '94. W. W. Uttley has entered the class of '94 at Dickinson. '93. Wm. J. McDowell leaves P. S. C., to en ter the Columbia School of Mines. '93. Geo. S. Demming is engineering for the P. R. R. in Clearfield Co., Pa., in three feet of '93. W. K. Gibboney has left college and is engaged with his father in the manufacture of woolen goods at Reedsville, Pa., Ex-'93. D. W. Gross has entered Highland Falls Military Academy where he will prepare for his entrance to West Point in June next. Ex-'93. Jno. B. Greer having graduated at Duffs' Commercial college, Pittsburgh, is register ed as a law student in his fathers office at Butler, Pa. '93. Chas. A. Cummings was called home by the illness of a brother and a sister instead of the illness of his parents as we stated in our last issue. Since then we are sorry to learn his brother died on the 14th, of December. Ex-'92. Carey Lamborn is now attending Lin coin University. '92. Jno. Foster has left college, but will join THE FREE LANCE. '9l, T. A. Gilkey who has been absent since the early part of last term, owing to the illness of his mother, has returned to college. STUDENT. '9o. J. C. Mock has resigned his position in Pittsburg to accept a more lucrative one with the United States Electric Co., of Newark, N. J. 'B9. J. F. L. Morris is principal of the public schools of Catawissa, Pa. 'B9. James Foster is Head Chemist of the Jen nings Iron and Steel Co., of Pittsburgh. 'B7. W. F. Strome is Superintendent of the draughting department of the Maryland Con struction Co., of Baltimore. His office is No. 43 Chamber of Commerce. This is the company which is building the Baltimore Belt R, R., which is one of the best pieces of engineering work in the country. 'B6, Harry J. Patterson Wad Chemist of the Maryland Agricultural Experimental Station spent the Xmas vacation with his parents here in State College. 'B2. I. P.• McCreary visited the college during the latter part of December. Prof. M. W. Bohn tarried over Sunday, the rith inst., with his numerous friends at the college. A degree has been conferred upon Henry M Stanley by Cambridge University. the class of '93, next Fall. '9l. J. F.
