milk will first make the pig costive, then

lut sour milk will not. The late fall pigs
should suck the sow as they will, and the
sows should bo fed on warm siop iu, u
fed often. The slop can be warmed by
pouring hot water into the swill tub. A
breeding sow should never be led much
dry corn.

communicates the following sensible ideas
about preparing it :
"It is a wonder that so few should nave
any thing but field corn for table u-ie ; and

between the common field corn and the
Klrdon varieties. I have been used for
years to drying corn. Boil the green ears
i minute or two, just to harden the milk,
then cut from the cob and spread on a
cloth in tho sun for two days, taking it in
at night ; it will then keep auywhere. r

houra, and boil in the same water. In
cold woavher all that i wanted for a week
er two may be wet. It oooks quicker and
tastes belter. A little milk and flour
boiled in is almost as good as cream. I
have not given up-drying corn, but for
two years past I have put some down in

more quickly prepared. At first I had

comparatively tasteless, but now I boil the
corn in one water a minute or two, turn
