Patrick English, employed in the rolling
mill, met with a sudden death on Friday
last by being run over by the engine of
the C. J. Co. lie was on his way to Cam
bria city, and was in the act of walking
across the railroad track, when he v.-as
struck by a box car which the engine was
pushing and his head literally mashed to
a jelly. No blame attaches to the engi
neer. "We have a great curiosity here" now, in
the shape of a locomotive engine, called
the "Flack Dwarf." it is claimed by the
makers, Messrs. Smith & Porter, of South
Pittsburg, that this is the smallest loco
motive engine of equal power ever built in
this country. It is to be used for drawing-
coal from the Company's mines, at
Cambria city.
A match game of base b ill came off

being built at the corner of YYahliington

will be excelled bv no similar structure in
the State.
The old toll bridge crossing the C"ne
mar.oh river at the roiling mill has been
removed, to make room for a splendid iron
bridge to he erected by the Cambria Iron
Co.. at their own expense.

tion, has resigned his position, with " v
