TnE Concert. The grand coicert":
given unter the auspice of the Moun
taineer Uase liall Club came off at the
Court - nou?e on Thursday evening last,
and was a' grpat succcs1?. The house was
literally vf7 throughout, and hundreds
vrere unable to ob'ain mors than sanding
room, and esteemed themselves iucky in
f-tcurtr.g even thrt. The cntertaiumeut
partook of two distinct characters, vneal
and inptruwental. The vocal mu-ic wa
rendered by a picked choir, consisting of
the following members : Prof. II. Hughes,
Under, John O. Kvan., A. Y. Jones, 1.
II. Kinkead, Mrs. L. JJavis, M:-ses Hattie
llnhiufon, 1'risciUa Jonrp, and 1zzie
Lewi-. The instrumental music was ren
dered by the Crystal Oiohestra Iai.d,
under the leadership ol that iuus:eal ge
nius, Mr. Andy Maguire. The 5and
consitcd of the following mcmbcis ar.d
instruments : Andy Mnguire, fir-t violin;
James O'JJiian, second violin; J. I i ld-
house, c met ; Ed. U'Uiiaii, violoncello;
Harty Kinkead, ba?e iol; fieo. Jones,
piano. iiie music, ocai auu man uwcu-
al, was splendid, and conij arable only to
that made by the morning stars when they
"sang together for joy." As showing the
appreciation of the vast audiei ce, it is
enough to pay that by the unanimous re
quist of those present, the concert was
repeated last (Wednesday) niht to
another crowded house. The citizens of
Ktensburg certainly owe a d bt of gaii
tude, first to the lase Uali Club, aud sec
ond to the singers and musiciauS, for these
magnificent ci.tertainiuent.
