A Number One Store. E. J. Mills
& Co., High street, Ebensburg, have late
ly enlarged their store room very materi
ally, and have otherwise greatly improved
it. It is now one of the largest in town,
and a model with regard to fasteful con
struction. The room has just been filled
with a stock of goods which in extent
and variety has never been surpassed.
Everything required by an individual or
by a community can be found there, and
of the lest. In fact, it is a number one
country store, where the millions can go
uy. Prices liberal. We take treas
ure in recommending Mil!s'& Co. to the
public, and hope their success in business
may be commensurate with their deserts.
Messrs. 31. & Co. desire particularly to
draw the attention of womankind to the
fact that they have got the largest, finest
and best assortment of Furs on their coun
ters ever offered here. Go and see.
The Roat Slander Disposed Of.
W. II. Rose, late Adjutant of the 54th
regiment P. V., a Democrat iu politics,
publi.'hes a card in last week's Johnstown
Tribune, completely exculpating Colonel
Campbell from the charge of brutal con
duct as preferred against him by Sergt.
Roat. '-Better late than never" is a mot
to which holds good in politics as in other
things, and we are glad tn see justice thus
done to a good man even at this late day.
Still, we are constrained to say that Mr.
Rose's refutation of the slander, coming
as it does from one who "opposed the
election of Colonel Campbell," would have
looked better in print before the election
than after.
Thanks. We are under obligations
to Conductor Scott, of our Branch train,
for copies of the new schedules on the
Main Line and on the Branoh.
