South Carolina is no longer alone in
her glory or infamy, as you take it. On
Friday, Jauuary 11th, the ordinance of
secession, declaring Alabama out of the
Union, was patted, amid the firing of
guns, ringing of belli, and other extrava
gant manifestations of rejoicing.
On the same day, the ordinance of seces
sion declaring Florida out of the Pniou was
passed. The United States arsenal at
Chattehoochee, (Fla.) has been seized by
by order of the Ciovcruur of that State,
under the pretext that the United States
officer intended to remove the arms.
The secession ordinance declaring Mis

the same day.
