WOOLLY HORSE WINS!!
One of the greatest and most exciting
races of which history furnishes auy record,
came off in the Old Keystone, on the sec
ond Tuesday of October, between the cel
ebrated nags, Woolly Horse and Bob Tail.
Xo pains had been spared by the respec
tive friends of each to thoroughly fit them
j for the turf, and when brought out in the
morning, both nags looked remarkably
J well. Our reporter having .secured their
i portraits at this seasonable juncture, we
j take greet pleasure in presenting them to

George S. King, Esq.,
Ay Dear Gcorye: I cannot suffer this
occasion to pass without congratulating
you upon the glorious result of the recent
election. We have indeed achieved a
most brilliant Republican triumph.
Our friend, Andy Curtin, has been J
elected Governor by an overwhelming
majority. This is glory enough fur one
day Wehave also secureda goodly number
of Congressmen ; aud add to all this the
magnificent fact, that we have elected
our vli'jle comity t'uhit. This is glory
enough for several day at least.
You will, I well know, rejoice and be
exceeding glad at the fact that I, anions
the rest, have made the lauding. Such
