" ration of lion purified of Oxygen and 1
Carbon by combustion in Hydrogen. Sanc
tioned by the highest medical authorities,
both in Europe and the United States,, and
prescribed- in their practice. The experience
of thousands daily proves that no preparation
of Iron can be compared with it. Impurities
of the blood, depression of vital energy, pale
and otherwise sickly complexions, indicate its
necessity in almost every conceivable ca?e.
Innoxious in all maladies in which it lias been
tried, it has proved absolutely curative in each
of the following complaints, viz:
Jn lltbiliti, Xtrvous Afli-clit.iix. Emaciation
Dyxprpsia, Constipation, JJiarrho'a. llyrtiitir;.
Incipient Consiimj-lioii, Scrofulous Tuberculosis,
Salt J'hfum, Jliriiiaixtritatioii, Wliit$, Choro
xi. Lifer Compaiiils, Chronic llnidachar. llheu
matifin, Intermittent Eittrt, PiMjdf Cti .
Pace. etc.
In cases of General Debility, w hether the
result of acute diseases, or of the continued,
diminution of" nervous and mu.-cular energy
from chronic complaints, on trial of this re
storative has proved successful to an extent
which no description nor written attestation
would render credible. Invalids so long bed
ridden as to have become forgotten in their
own neighborhoods, have suddenly reappeared
in the busy world as if just returned from pro
tracted travel in a distant land. Some very
signal instances of this kind are attired of
female sufferers, emaciated victims of appa
rent marasmus, sanguineous exhaustion, crit
ical changes, ami that complication of nervous
and dyspeptic aversion to air and exercise for
which the physician has no name.
In Xtrvous Affection of all kinds, ami for
reasons familiar to medical men, the operation
of this preparation of iron must necessarily be
salutary, lor. unlike the old oxides, it is vigo
rously tonic, without being exciting and over
heating: and gently, regularly aperic nt. even
in the most obstinate cases of costi veness,
without ever being a ga.-tric purgative, or in
flicting a disagrealdc sensation.
It is this latterpropcrty. ninong other?:, which
makes it so remarkably effectual and perma
nent a remedy for Pil,r. upon which it also
appears to exert a distinct and specific action,
by di.-per. ing the local tendency which forms
them.
In I;p'pn'r. innumerable as are its causes,
a single box of these t'halibeate Pills has of
ten siilficed tor the mo.-t habitual cases, inclu
ding the attendant co.-tiveness.
In unchecked l'iarrhu a. even w hen advanced
to Jhxi nltry. continued, emaciating, and appa
rently malignant, the effects have been equally
decisive and astonishing.
In the local pains, loss of flesh and strength,
debilitating cough and remittent hectic w hich
generally indicate Incipient Consumption, this
remedy has allayed the alarm of friends and
phy.-iciuns. in several very gratifying and in
teresting instances.
In Scrofulous Tuberculosis this medicated
Iron has had far more than the good effect of
the most cautiously balanced preparations of
iodine, without any of their well known lia
bilities. The attention of females cannot be too con
fidently invited to this r, nod; and n'torutic, .
in the cases peculiarly affecting them.
In .'Jo ii m at if m , both chronic and inllamato
ry in the latter, however, more decidedly
it has been invariably well reported, both" as
nllcv biting pain and icdiicing the swellings
and stiffness of the joints and li.us. lcs.
In Intermittent p. v, is ittmist necessarily be
a great remedy and energetic re.-toral ive. antl
its progress in the new settlements ol the West,
will probably be one of high renown and use
fulness. No remedy has ever bee n discovered
in the whole history of medicine w Inch exerts
such prompt, happy and fully restorative ef
fects. Good appetite, complete digestion, rap
id acquisition of strciigt h, with "an nniL-ual
disposition for a. live and cheerful exercise
immediately follow its use.
