An individual named Jinks, in violation of all rules and regula tions in such cases made and provided, on last Thursday, furnished his brother, 1 nomas Jinks, who is a prisoner in our county jail, a quantity of tanglefoot with which (no doubt) to celebrate the ga-lori- ous victorv of Ileenan over Savers. This Thomas forthwith proceeded to do, by get tinir a monstrous heavy load on. lhe whiskey in question being of the denomi nation known as ''fisrhtinsr," caused him to become riproarious, and during his drunk en antics, by some means or other he frac tured the leg of a prisoner confined in the same room. The broken limb of the un fortunate victim was immediately attended to, and he is now doing as well as could be expected: aud the Mr. Jinks first- mentioned vras arrested and fined for fur nishing prisoners with liquor. New Goods. Owing to want of space last week, we were unable to notice edito rially the arrival of a large and magnificent assortment of goods at the well aud favor ably known establishment of "Win. We would here state that Mr. D. and his accommodating salesmen nave made arrangements to fill all orders, from a paper of pins or a pound of coffee to ar ticles enough to set up a one-horse store, at prices which will astonish the natives, and everybody else. Give him a call and see. A Compromise. It is said that if oth er arrangements cannot be entered into o with regard to the final adjustment of the Champion's Belt, about which such excitement is being kept up, both in Eng land and America, that it is the intention of Sayers providing Ileenan is agreeable, and of course he will be to compromise the matter by furnishing Benicia with an elaborate suit of ready-made clothing, &c., from the cheap establishment of C. R. Jones, one door below Thompson's Moun tain House. Important Change. The Iron City College has removed to the splendid halls in the new College Building, corner of Penn and St. Clair streets, opposite the St Clair Hotel. Prof. J. C. Smith, A. 31. for the past three years the principal teacher in the College, is now associate Principal and proprietor with F. W. Jenkins in the Institution, and 31 r. A.
