The melancholy event occurred at his residence, in that place, on Sunday last, after a painful illness of about two months. The deceased was a lawyer by profession, and was a resident practitioner at the Ebensburg Bar for about two years. He left this place in company with the Cambria Guards, asd with them, rendered his country signal service in the war with Mexico. After peace was restored, ho returned to Indi ana, the place of his nativity, where he resumed the duties of his profession, and continued in successful practice until within a short period of his untimely death. As a lawyer he had acquired an enviable distinction ; as a soldier his brave ry never quailed ; as a man, he had many good qualities both of head and heart. llis bereaved relations here, as well as in Indiana, have the sympathies of the en tire community. There I It is consummated. And as it is so; we tender our friend Isaae and his es timable bride our best wishes for unalloy ed happiness and prosperity in their new relation, and long and useful lives ere their flight to the uuseen world. The "Weather, that fruitful subject for localizers, has been rather out of gear for some time past or in common par lance, "slightly mixed." One would al most imagine that the season of Indian Summer, instead of that of old Boreas, were here. The snow, under the genial influence of the sun, has almost entirely disappeared, and the umerrie jingle of ye bells," as a consequence, is heard no more. But from present indications, such a con dition of things will not long continue. Talking of sleighing, an editor out "West reports it as being good in his vicinity, and says the "boys" and "gals" in. the opportunity to enjoy a sleigh-ride. An improvement on that mode is practised here both the fleigh-ride and "gals" are m.ed when opportunity offers. TlILRMOM ETHICAL OBSERVATIONS. We are indebted to our friend and fellow citizen, Dr. R.
