VJ' Christmas Times and Sleighing Par ties "ain'tas they used to was" ten or fifteen years ago, when whiskey the best, was five cents a glass, (with a segar thrown in,) and when a good horse and sleigh could be had all night for two dollars. Fifty cents used to be the established price for a ride to Berwick and back(in parties,) and a good supper could be had for three levvics. For a two dollar note a fellow could take his sweet heart to Danville, and enjoy a whole night's frolic and fun, and the livery man and the hotel keepers made more money than they do now. To go through the same folly now, spoilt the face of a ten dollar greenback. The consequence is, the young men save their change and the girls don't go a sleigh ing not much.
