of Adam Babb, of Pine Township, Colum
bia County, not long since, shot three deer,
in thewqods, near the residence of his
father, all within a .very short time. .The
boy is quite a young marksman, just fairly
in his "teen3," T Deer are said to be plenty
this fall ; "'although, as yet, but few have
reached this market. On Saturday last we
eatf one a large bock, which had beea shot
on the North Mountain.

S3? Robbery. On Wednesday evening
last, JonN HiCKsV'who carries on a Pottery
at' this place, while on his road home, a
ehort'disfance th;3 side of Centralia, on tho
Mountain, was attacked and robbed, of over
Jifty DoUart in cash, by four ruffians. Mr.
Hicks was in his wagon, returning f.oai
"down country" where he had sold out h's
load of wares. The villains halted his team,
drew pistols upon him, demanded his mon
ey, and he not making to them a satisfacto
ry move towards producing it, whereupon
wo of the robbers sprang into ihe wagon
and commenced .riffling his pockets. They
look from hhn the , above amount in cash,
and notes,' " against different individuals,
Amounting to some two hundred dollars. In
their hurry and , roughness they. tore one
pocket entirely out of hi3 pantaloons, and
net stopping to unbutton his coat and vest,
they jerked them open, thus tearing off the
buttons and giving the clothes all the appear
r;ce of having. passed through rough hands.
This happened in the early part of the eve
