Ma. Tamley's Foundry in Robrsbarg
formerly Joseph LoDe'fJ. was on the
evening of the 10th inat., consumed by
fire. It is well known to be the work
of an inceoJiary. It is also understood
that no blame attached to the citizens of
Rohrsburg. . .
In Berwick, on the night of the 16th
inat., a fire occurred consunjingthe large
FoundryT H?cb;ne and Car Shops of
Messrs. Jackson & Woodin, and two adjoining-stables.
The fire was discovered
abbut one o'clock at night, but too late
to save the buildings. It ia supposed to
have originated from some heated cast
ings ia the Foundry. The property was
insured.
On the 13th inst. about 7 o'clock,
P. M., a fire, supposed to have origina
ted from the stove pipe, bioke out in the
old Bcttle aore house in L'ght Street,
now owned by II. W. Creasy, & Co.,
who lately purchased and repaired it in
order to enlarge their Wines. It ended
in the entire destruction of the store
house and an adjoining dwelling house
belonging to Reuben Culp, then occupied
by two families. A portion of the
household furniture was caved. Creasy 's
loss is said to be at least $2,500. There
was no insurance on the property. We
hope, and believe, that with their exten
sive custom and eminent business quali
fications, their loss will soon be regained.

of the First National Rank of March

AR E THE ONLY INSTRTJ JkENT r.onstrncted on
a truly scientific principle. They have greater
strength, and will remain longer in Tusk than any olh
er I'iano. Tlie construction is simple and n til nl, all
tbe extraneous lumber in tlie bo.!y of th instriimeni
is dispensed with ; the sound boards are merely two
arched planks of thin wood, like ttie front and lack or
a violin ; the strings are attached to a strong Iron
frame. n hich is "eftarated and entirely indepeud nt of
the rase, therrby dispensing with me old harp form of
htr i tiding, hy substituting straight bridges, preserving
at the lame tune the Over Strung Bass, of which Mr.
Drigos is the Inventor. By th-.-sa improvements we
gain much more vibratory power, at the same time
preserving all its purity and richness of lone.
Tney have received the highest testimonials frm
the Prets, and all the principal artists in the country,
aaang which are ;
Harry Sanderson, L. M.Gottschalk,
Max Maretzek. S.Thalaerg.

Mr. SEGESMUNOTHALBERG, thi great pianist,
says : 1 have examined your new Piano fortes, and I
.cordially approve of its system of construction. Its
principle, by which great increase of vibratory power

Your Pianos errr de-erve tlie high-st rank. Your in

changes iu IQe manufacture of Pianos throughout tlie
world. .
From the N Y. Herald, Sept. f-l"pon a careful ex

The N. Y Times, July 12, says:-We have now an
instrument Without an equal. It can sing Willi a
smooth delicacy, perfectly unattainable on any other
instrument : an ordinary player obtains with no .-x-r

must supersede then'd lyles.

I consider perfection in the instrument than has yet
been achieved by any other system of luauafacture.
