arranged a plan to throw the cars of the
Catawissa Railroad off the track, a few
rods below the Maiavflle bridge, on the
night of the 26ih Inst., by ha means of
plank and blocks firmly fixed upon the rail.
At this place the track is. supported by a
stone wall saveral feet high resting upon
(be mountain side, and from the wall there
is a areep descent to the Catawissa Creek,
in all a distance of some eighty feet almost
perpendicular. The track-walker found

passed, and by removing it prevented the
consummation o! a moet destructive and
murderous intention. He who, through
malice toward the railroad compiny or
through any other feeling, could proceed to
calmly murder the passengers of the train
