On Saturday afternoon last, the roof of one of
the casting house of the Montour Iron Wefts
caught fire. The alarm was given but before our
Fire Company had reached the canal, the Moines
were extinguished through the aid of a small en
'giric, manufactured by Mr. Cmnir.s C. Li nn.

place. The engine is stationary, and i placed just

about six dollars in .each bag, with seme other mo
ney. There being some noise made in the adjoining
tpremises, til is presumed that the plunderers were
alarmed, and abdicated via tho trap door. It is

'them fell from the roof and lodged on a wall in the
