THE DUAFT FOR DEFICIENCIES.
The Board •of Enrollment for this district
made a draft at the Head quarters oi the Pro,
vest Mar Shat in this place, on Tuesday, the 5tF
inst., for, actual deficiencies on the late draft
occasioned by exemptions, in the counties of
Fulton, Adams,-and Bedford. Since that draft
was made an orderhas been issued to draft one
hundred per cent: additional for thedeficiency
_of. each district, so as to make the quota com
plete' without 'drawing• again, and accordingly
the draft was, made yesteidurser Franklin and
Somerset with the excess. An 'additional draft
111 be made hereafter fur the deficiencies in the
counties of_Adams, Fulton and. Bedford, as the
law requires the quota of each sub-district to
ti,fil:ed entirely either by commutation, substi
tides or personal service. The new law abol
ishing the commutation clause does not apply to
the draft, now being made, and conscripts can
still be released, from duty under this draft, but
ndt from future drafts, by the payment of $3OO.
.It' would be' wise therefore for every person
who can do so to render service in person or
by substitute, as they may be drafted by a new
call under the amended law within a Month
atter paying commutation,
- We' subjoin a list of the names drawn on the
sth inst for deficiencies : •
