this song of the Syrens to the mariner Illssus,
lilighting their most brilliant hopes, or ucticipations
rendering marriage, Sic:, impossible.
YOUNG MEN,
Young Men esnpcially, who have become the vic
tims of Solitary N ice, that dreadful and destructive
habit - which annually sweeps to on untimely grave
thousand-sof young men of the most exalted talent
and brilliant intellect, who might otherwise have
entranced listening Senates with, the thunders of

ORGANIC WEAKNESS!
TRYEDIATELY CURED AND FULL VIGOR RESTORED.
This disease is the penalty most frequently paid by
those who have become the victims of improper in
dulgences. Youbg persons are too apt to - commit
excesses from - not being aware of the dreadful CORSE-
Auences that may ensue. Now, who that understands
the subject will pretend to deny that the power of
Procreation is.lost sooner by those falling-IntoiMpro

t''A CURE )VARItANTED IN TWO DAYS.
, No Mercury or Nauseous Drugs.
.
DR. JOHNSTON,
Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, London
graduate from one of the most eminent Colleges of
the United States, and the greater part of whose
life has been spent in the hospipals of I.ondon, Paris
Philadelphia and•elsew here. has effected some of
the Most teilonislibur cures that were - over known.
Many troubled with ringing in the head and ears
when asleep, great nervousness, being alarmed at
sudden sounds, •and bashfulness, with frequent
blushing, attended sotnetimes with derangement of
mind, were,cered immediately.
•A CERTAIN DISEASE
When the misguided and imprudent votary of
pleasnrofind he has imbibed the seed of this pain
ful diseases, it too often hapbens that an ill-timed
sense of shame, or dread of discovery, deters him
from applying to those who from education and re
spectability can, alone befriend him. delaying till
the constitutional symptoms of this horrid disease
make their appearance, such as ulcerated sore
throat, diseased nose, nocturnal pains in the head
and limbs. dimness of sight, deafness, nobs on the
shin, bones and arms, blotches on the head, face
and extremities, progressing with frightful rn pidi
ty,till at last the palate of the month or the bones
of the nose fall in and the victim of this-awful-di
sease becomes a horrid object of tommisseration,
till death puts a period to his dreadful sufferings,
by sending him to "that bourne from whence no
traveller returns."' To such, therefore, Dr. Johns
ton pledges himself to preserve the most inviolable
secrecy; and from his extensive practice in the first
Hospitals of Europe and America, he min confident
ly recommend a safe and speedy cure to the unfor
tunate victim-of this horrid disease.
It is a melancholy fact that thousands fall victims
to this horrid disease owing to the unskillfulness of
ignorant
_pretenders who by use of that dreadful
poison ;Mercury„ ruin the constitution, and either
send the' unfortunate to an untimely grave, or make
the residue of life miserable.

TAKE PARTICULAR NOTICES
Dr. J. addresses those who have injured them
selves by private and improper indulgences.

What a pity that a young man, the hope of his
country, tho darling of his parents, should besnatch

consequence of deviating from the path of nature,
and indulging in a certain secret habit. Such . per

through life becomes a weary pilgrimage, the pros

I do thisithe more readily in regard to llooffarid's:
Gorman Bitters. prepared by Dr. C. M. Jackson, et,

many yearts, under the impression -that they were;
