'Panay and that his cavalry was pushing him
closely.
Gen. Sherman 'arrived - at;.-157.noxville on
Sunday evening—Longstreet raised the siege
.of Knoxville on the night of i4ie 4th inst.,
retreating towards Bristol. His' retreat is on
