Pleasant: thought hlmselt called upon to bring the matter to a crisis. He therelore sent I requelt to Mr. Ritchie to me‘et him at a specified place and hour, across the river from Richmond. with side arms—- Mr. Ritchie uent word back that he could not consent to settle the affair in that way. Mr. Pleasants then sent him word that the matter mm! be settled; and in that way.
