Distres,sing caso.—A little child on a
visit from the vicinity of Easton,' Pa., came
to a very melancholy death, yesterday
morning, nt the residence of Mrs. Miller,
in Spring Garden., The child was takeirl
sick, and Mrs. M. intended 'to administer
some anti bilious medicine,',,o - ave it in mis
take, three teaspoonfulls of laudanum.—
The next moment she discovered the sad
error, and hastend for medical assistance.
A physician - was soon in attendance, and
applied the proper remedies, usual in such
eases, vomiting was produced, but the
child died in, about four hours abr. The
fatal efliTt of the drug is attributed to the
empty stomach of the child, from loss of
a ppetite.--J'ennsylvanian.
