September 3d, while Mrs. Jame3 Henry of
Uniow Township, this county, was in the

a pail of hot water for that purpose, her

died on Simday afternoon following. This

cise rooro care when children are about.
Qi'Estions. Is there anything doinir
towards procuring a Funply of good and
wholesome water? Is there any move to
wards the erection of gass works? Are the
bororjgh officers having the filth removed
from oor streets and alleys? Would it not
be prudent to have the accumulated filth
removed from some of the back yards about
town ? Are we not in need of a good lockup ?
These are important questions, and worthy
the attention of citizens as well as borough
otficers.
Collision of Ditgitiks. On Saturday
last, September 3d, as Messrs. Ezra Brown
and Ed. KaufTuian, were driving, along the
road near Logans M ill, .some man, also in a
buggy, approached them s rapid pace, when,
in attempting to pass, the two vihieles colli
ded and broke the shafts in both of them.
All the parties were thrown to the ground
but escaped injury, with the the exception
of Mr. Brown, who received a severe cut
on the back of the head from a stone on
which he fell.

About 8 o'clock on Saturday morning,
the deceased walked from her residence,
aliout fifty rods, to -the dwelling of E-quire
Hildebrand, wUose daughtor was lying sick,
to aduiiuister relief in auy way -she could,
conversr.l with some of the neighbors in her
usual tone, and then fell suddenly to the
floor insensible. She survived until about
12 o'clock M. . when her spirit returned to
its Maker. She had been a member of the
Zion Baptist congresation for upwards of
16 years, was the mother of a large family,
universally beloved and respected by family
and friwids, and her sudden demise has
caused a gloom to hang over the community
in which .-he lived. Truly, "in the luidst
of life we are in death."
