We l ave frequently suggested the !ieee.-si:y of securing a sufficient supply of joud water, fir Clearfield, as the uumer ens sinks and rtfrP1-''" of Ci'.h within our borough liuiiu are affecting the wells, and rendering the water unLt for use. We now recur to the subject ta";n, in the hope that s"i!e action will be had towards obtaining thi i!1disensable dissideratum to the well fare and convenience of our citizens. Moose creek, as we have heretofore demonstrated, . i the source from which sufficient good and he !th-preserving water can Le obtained for a:l time to come the stream being large euoueh to supply a population twenty or thirty ttuiej greater than we have at pres ent. To ccompliah this object, it will only be necessary to puichase the water privi lege near its sources, and erect a permanent and ample resemor eoine two or three miles up that stream, and convey it from thence in mains. The reservoir should be built far enough r.p the creek, so that its elevation would be sufficient to carry it above any point at which buildings may be erected within the borough. No doubt many will oppose this on account of its cost, but that must not itand in the way. The health of our people is paramount to all pecuniary considerations, and the day is rapidly ap proaching when it must be done. Then, why not do it now ? What say the people ? The popular side the shady side. That Filth. So far, no move has been made towards removing the filth from alleys in this borough. Promptness on the part of the borough officers, is what the public expect. Then, why not go to work at once? Change. N. E.
