blue waves the diver was seen. Ashe came
to the sutlaee he reached Minister DeLuni;
a sword and a-lai-quered box, and then with
lib hemiet loo-cd, and our party crowded
around to hear of the gallant ship. Among
our party were many survivors of the Onei
da; among them were Win, .Crowinshield,
Capt. Clark, Master Yates- and I r. James
Siui-larJ, who were intensely excited to
learn the liuings. .
Said the diver: "The wafer for the Grst
seventy lect was quite clear, as the suu cave
excellent light, ami although- my supply of
air was ouee choked oil ior an instant, I
reached the deck of the ship jun astern of

'natch ; the tide was ebbing quite srrocg and
l was compttile i to bold to the lines trotn
ti e riL'o'.tii: to keep from heins swept for
ward. 1 tir.-t examined the side of the ship;
she was cut trotu the. mizen rigaiag (at an
ati-'le of about forty dcgrees)acros.s the whole4
stern ol'le.e ship, her timbers, far below the
water-line, being enj-hed and broken, the
captain's eabin cut in two, the wheels and
steering gear all carried away, mid, in fact,
the whole side and end of the ship stove in
or cut away. The ship is heading south
west, and sits upright on the bottom, and is
making sand blowly. I laid down on the
(i nk and peered over the broken end into
the cabin, but tiid not dare trust tny air-line
in contact with the jagged timbers.
"The guns and armament, except one. arc
a'l in j laee aft : but I did not go forward, as
I was'yfraid of entanglement in therisginp."
Turning to Crowinshield, he said : "Your
evidence, which I road, described almost ex
actly the injury, except tha; she was cut
deeper than you- could have known." Lou
gee expressed the belief that it will be im
practicable to raise the ship, but that the
splendid battery, personal effects, fie, can
be saved if the Government sees proper.
By this survey the testimony ot the living I
is vented, and the memory of the dead
without stain, for the position of the ship
as found, and the position of both the Onei
da and Ponibay, as testified to by the navi
gating officers, shows that it was impossible
tor the Captain of the Bombay to have ever
seen the red light of the Oneida, and that
the order of '"Port your helm," by Captain
Kyre. was wrong, and the ''Starboard,
hard-a-starboard. of Master Yates was right.

Dr. R. W. Carr, o! Baltimore, says :
I take pleasure in recctnmecding your
Rosadalis as a vey powerful alterative. I
have seen it used in two cases with happy
results one In a case of secondary syphilis
in which the patient pronounced himself
cured after having taken five bottles of
your medicine The other is a case of scrof
ula of long standing, which is rapidly im
proving under its use, and the indications
are that the patient will soon recover. I
have carefully examined the formula by
which your Rosadalis is made, and find it
an excellent compound of alterative ingre
dients Dr. Ppa-ks. of Nicholasvilie, Ky., says he
has used Rosadalis in eases of Scrofula and
Secondary Svphiliswitb satisfactory results
as a cleaner of the Blojd I know no bet
