The following officers were announced, viz: President, John M. Kateu ; Vice Presidents, John Wooldridge, Jos. Winery, Jacob It. Peters and Henry Graffius ; Sec retaries, E. Ialeand W. H. Mr. A's re marks were confined principally to the rec ords of the two candidates for Gubernatorial honors ; and, thoueh it was his first attempt, he did credit to himself and the cause for which he spoke. At the conclusion of Mr. A'sreinaiks. T. II. Murray, Esq., was call ed upon, who, with fluency of speech and 1 ulne.-s of ideas, spread before his hearers the great principles of the Republican party. He showed the uistinetii n between the two parties the progress of the one and the decline of the other. He discussed the 1 5i h Amendment, explained the tax question, al luded to the pardoning 1 owcr which Gov. Geary has been charged with abusing by the enemv, and rehearsed the career of Geary and Packer. On Friday, the 1st instant, a woman by the name? of tVebster, the wife of a laborer in the employ of Mr. Thomas, was accidentally killed on the Rail road track near Bellefonte, by the Snow Shoe train. She was walking on the track, and was called to get out of the way, but ap parently paid no attention to the warning. Whether she heard or not, or whether she was so alarmed and confused as not to know what she was doing, we do not know ; but as it was not possible to stop the cars in time to save her, she was run over, the x.ccident tearing tfi" one of her arms and cutting oft a leg. - She only lived a few moments after the occurrence of thtisad affair. Br.Aia County. A melancholy accident occurred on Saturday afterno ni.O.:t. 1st, in Frni.kstovrn township, in which Mr. Daniel Null unfortunately lo-t his life. He was in a field drilling grain, and not coming home in the evening. hii wife became alarmed and made search for him,- but rot finding him. she got several of the neighbors to search him, when his remains were found in the field, near some bushes, on the top of the machine, his face mashed and his neck sup posed to be broken. It is thought he took a fit, to which he wa9 subject, and fell with his head in the wheel. He was found but a few feet from the scene of the accident, the horses havingstoptied. His death must have been instantaneous. Mr. Null was an estimable citizen, universally respected. He leaves a wife and two children, and his sad death is deplored by many friends. . . . Mr. Joseph Gecfey, an aged citizen of Franks town, met with a very severe accident on Sunday morning. October 2nd. Mr. Geesey bad got out of bed, intending to go down stairs and get a ds ink of water. Instead of opening the door rt the head of the kitchen stairway, be unfortunately opened one over the basement cellar, and to which no stairs were attached. lie instantly fell to the basement, and iu hi.i fall struck an iron hoop lying upon the top of a keg. A portion of his no e and the entire uuper lip were com pletely severed from his face, and his upper jaw broken. Surgical assistance was imme diately summoned, and his injuries properly attended to the jaw re-set, and the nose and lip sewed on again. Owing to bis ex treme age, about 70 years, Mr. Geescy's injuries will be very severe upon him, and we learn that his friends are very doubtful of his recovery. . . . They are all three to be taken at the same time. Thay cleanse the stomach, relax the liver, and pat it to work ; then the appetite becomes good, the food digests and makes good blood, the patient begins to grow in flesh the diseased matter ripens in the 1 ngs.and the patient outgrows the disease and gets well. This is the only way to core the consumption. To these three medicines Dr. J. H. Schenck, of Philadelphia, owes his unrivalled success in the treatment of pulmonary consumption The Pul monic Syrup ripens the morbid matter in the tungs. nMture throws ft off by an easy expectora tion, for when the phlegm or matter is ripe, a slight cough will throw it off, and the patient has rest and the lungs begin to heal To do this, the Seaweed Tonic and Mandrake Pills nvu9t be freely used to cleanse the stomach and lifer, so that the Pulmonic Syrup and the, food will wake good blood. Liver Complaint is one of the most prominent causes of Consumption Schenck 's Saaweed Ton ic is a gentle stimulant and alterative, and the alkali in the Seaweed, which this preparation is ma.lo of. assists the stotnaeh to throw out the gas trie juice to dissolve the food with the Pulaonie Syrup, and it is made into good blood without fer mentation or souring in the stomach. The great reason why physicians donot cute consumption ts they try to do too much ; they give nadicine to stop the cough, to stop chills, to stop night sweats, hectic fever, and by so daiog tbey derange the whule digedtive puwers.louking up the secretions and eventually the patcnt sinks and dies. Dr. Schenck", in bis treatment, does not try to slop a cough, night sweats chills or fever. Ke nioe the cause and they will all stop of their own accord No one can be cured of consumption. liv er complaint, dyspepsia, catarrh, canker, ulcer ated throat. unless the liver and stomach are made healthy. If a person hasconsnmptinn. of course the lungs in some way are diseased, eirher tubercles, ab scesses, bronchial irrit.ition, pleura adhesion, or the lungs are a muss of infl-imation an i fast de caying. In sueh cases what must be done ? It is not only the lungs that are wasted. but it Is the whole body. The stomach and liver have lost their power to make blood out of fond. Now the only chance is to takeSchenck't three medicine, which will bring up a tone to the stomach, the patient will begin want food, it will digest easily and make good blood ; then the patient begins to gain in flesh, and as soon as the body begins te grow, the lungs beg n to heal up. and the patient gets fleshy and well. This is the only way to cure consumption. When there is no lung disease, and only liver complaint and dyspepsia, Schencks laeaweed I onic and Mandrake Pills are sufficient without Ihe Pulmonic Syrup. Take the MandraVe Pills freely iu all bilious complaints, as they are per fectly harmless. Dr. Schenck. who has enjoyed uninterrupted heahh'for many years past, aad now weighs 2X5 pounds, was wanted away to a mere skeleton, in the very last si age of : u I monary consumption, hit physicians having pronounced his case hopeleas und abandoned him to his fate. lie was cured by the nfore;aid medicines. and since his recovery many similarly afflicted have used Dr. Scbenuk s prepnrations with the same remarkable success The directions accompany ing each, make it nut ibsnlutcly necestry to see Dr. Soheaek. unlets the patients wish their lungs ezamiued. and for this purpose he is Professionally at bis Principal 'Juice, Philadelphia every Saturday, where ail letters for advice must be a.
