necticut, who went over to the Democracy-
two years ago, is among the latest accessions
to the cause of Grant and Peace.
The Sl Louis Democrat says that in one
of the counties of Southern Missouri, as it

former Democrat announces his purpose to
vote for Grant. hen asked why, they an

here, and have had enough of it. " Th
same feeling exists to a considerable extent
in the Southwest, aila in part of the State
where the horrors of war were fully experi
enced. Stay at home Conservatives are
bloody minded,but men who know what war
means want peace.
The Chicago Republican says: "The
Hon. Charles Clay, who was elected Demo
cratic Senator from Santa Clara County last
fall, has signified his adhesion to the Re
publican platform, and that he will vote and

and Colfax. The cry is "brill thevcome."
The letter of Hon. James II. Walton, of
Philadelphia, to Hon. II. D. Maxwell, at
Easton, is but another manifestation of the
spirit that is moving thousands of the honest
old Democrats to cut loose from a party led

And having a right to choose for myself, I
will do so fearlessly, by voting (or aud giving

M'Enally upon the bench, which we com
mend to the citizens of this county :
"Judge M'Enally and his associates. Wil

on Monday morning, and at once proceeded
to business. Up to g' iog to press nothing
but Commonwealth casOs were being tried.
The sudden transfer of the new Judge from
the Bar to the Bench does not seem to dis
commode him in the least. lie manifests
Luet and executive ability in dispatching the
public business equal to any of his prede-ces-ors."
The Clinton End Cen're county papers
spoke with equal favor of Judge M'Enally.
after holding court in those counties. We
hope the citizens of Clearfield county will
bear these facts in mind, at the election on
the 13th instant.

House of Representatives of tbe Commonwealth

it is bereby enactod by tbe authority ot toe same.
That tbe qunlitiei voters of tbe several election
districts of thu Commonwealth, at all general.
township, borough and special elections are here
by, hereafter authorised and required to vote. by
tickets, piintrd. or written, or partly printed and
pariiv written, severally classified as follows:
One ticket shall embrace the names of all judsres
c f courts voted for. and to he labelled outside
"judiciary i1 one ticket shall embruce the names
of the State officers voted for. and be labelled.
-State;" one ticket shall embrace the names of
all coutjty offioers voted for. including office of
Senator, member and members of assembly, tr
voted for. and members of Congress", if voted for
and be labelled -coumy ;" one ticket shall em
brace tbe nBines of all township officers voted
for. and be labelled '-township ; one ticket shall
embrace the names ot all borough officers voted
for, and be labelled "bo.-ough ;" and each class

all persons, except Justices of the Peace, who
shall hold any office or appointment of trust, un
der the government of the Tnited States or of
this State, or of any incorporated district, wheth
er a commissioned officer or otherwn a subor
dinate officer or agent, who is or shall be era
p oved under the Legislative, Executive, or Judi
cial" Departments of this State or United States,
or any city or incorpoated district, and also that
every member of Congress and of the State Legis
