In accordance with the Act of .Assembly, regulating Tri-ennial Assessments, and constituting a Board of Revision, the Commissioners of Clearfield county, herewith publish the above statement, showing the aggregate value and'assess
ments, made by each Assessor in the county for 186?, upon property taxable by law; and herewith give notice that the 14th day, of March, A. D. 1868, at the Commissioners' office in Clearfield, is fixed by them for finally determining
whether any of-the said valuations of assessors have been made below a just rate; aud all parties interested wilt take notice, that appeal may be made between this time and that day," but that after said day none will be allowed.

of $2,000 dollars for the apprehemion and
conviction of the murderers of John Casey.
Senator Morton's Speech. We, to
day, publish Senator Morton's great speech
on reconstruction, to the exclusion of our
usual variety of reading matter. The speech
is one of unusual interest, in that it defines
clearly the powers of Congress in reference
to the question of reconstruction. We hope
our Teaders will give this important docu
toent a careful perusal.
On the last day of January all the gutters
cre frozen over in New Orleans, and there
some ska: in on shallow ponds. The
Rcoijvne savs that for the first time in years
people found solid ice in their pitchers in
morning.
. In some parts of Alabama snow fell du
ring the List week of January to the depth
of six inches, an occurrence so rare that
fotne of the oldest inhabitants have found
