Our citizens were regaled with a grand musical entertain ment, on Thursday evening, February 7th, by the "Mountain Orchestra," assisted by the "Thiliiislurg Cornet Band" under the -a.lcr'hip of Prof. E. W. Thomas. Al though the Orchestra and Band are both of but recent organization, yet they discourse music with the precision and harmony of veteran musicians a fact which speaks well for the capabilities of Prof. Thomas as a teacher, and the aptness of the members to become proficients in the science of music, and the use of musical instruments. We diiunend the services of the Orchestra and Cornet Band to an appreciating public, and bespeak for them a liberal encouragement and patronage. New Patent. SCIIENCK'S MEDICINES. To cure consumption, tbe system must be pre pared so that tbe lungs will heal. To accomplish this, tbe liver and stomach must first be cleansed and an appetite created for good wholesome food, which, by these medicines will be digested prop erly, and good healthy blood made; thus build ing up the constitution. Schenck's Mandrake Piils cleanse tbe stomach of all billions or mucu ous accumulations; and, by using the Sea Weed Tonic in connection, the appetite is restored. Schenck's Pulmonic Syrup is nutriciousas well as medicinal, and, by using the three remedies, all impurities are expelled from she system, and good, wholesome blood made, which will repel all disease, if patients will take these medicines according to directions, consumption very fre quently in its last stage yields read ily to their ac tion. Take the Pills frequently, to cleanse the liver and stomach. Itdoes not follow that because tbe bowels are not costive they are not required, for sometimes in diarrhea they are neceessary. Tbestoraach must be kept healthy, and aa appe tite created to allow the Pulmonic Syrep ta act on the respiratory organs properly and allay an irritation. Then all that is required to perlorm a permanent cure is. to prevent taking cold. Ex ercise about the rooms as much as possible, eat all the richest food fat mea, game, and, in fact, anything the appetite craves; but be particular and masticate well.
