ccide-nT- On Thursday of the fair, a
little sod of John II. Larrimer. of Lawrence
totrnship, was accidentally run over by some
horses, bat fortunately sustained no injuries
acept some bruises.
Failed. On Sturday all the mails from
Philipsburg failed to reach this place, and
our citizens were compelled to wait until
Monday evening for their letters and papers.
Thus it appears that, under the operation
of "My Policy," mail facilities are "pro
gressing backwards."
The Americas Farmer. The American
'Farmer for October is just received, and as
usual, is lull of irood things. In fact, it is
just the paper that every farmer should
take, and is well worthy of the .designation
"The "Practical Farmers' Own Par-er."
The subscription price is only $1.00 a year,
and all who subscribe at this time for 1S67,
get the remaining three months of this year
1st nothing. Address, Rochester, N. Y.
The Fair. The Agricultural Fair, held
&st week at this place, was largely attended,
and, in a finar cial aspect, was a success.
The display of articles on exhibition was not
to Iar.se as heretofore, but of good quality.
Some of the lancy "fixins" were truly su
jerh. and excelled anything of the kind
heretofore -exhibited in our county. The
iii.-play of apples was creditable the speci
mjciw of grapes, truly fine the potatoes
large and of excellent quality and, in fact,
everything eLse on -exhibition fiood. The
.inlv rpuret is. that so little interest was
nixriifested on behalf of our fanner and
tiwlesiiH'ii gen :rully mi bringing their pro
ducts to the fair. Why is this so? ;Let
t'uj-e most interested, answer.
