1866, aged 22 years, 1 month and 6 days.
The decease! was a member of company B,
149th, Penn'a, Volunteers, lie Was a brave
ollier, end done good serv ice for the cause
of the Union, on many a battle Celd. At
Gettysburg, " he received a very severe
wound, which disabled him to such an ex
tent that he was discharged from the ser
vice ; after which he returned to his home
ia Uuiou township, where he died never
baring recovered from his wound so as to be
able to do a single days' work. Peace to

Pennsylvania Legislature. On the
6th of April, the IIouso Representatives at
Uarrisburg passed this resolution : '.
Resolved, That our- Senators be instruc
ted, and Congressmen requested to resist
the admission into full fellowship as States,
of any and all the States lately in rebellion
until the organic law of the nation shall be
so amended as to protect the credit of the
Government to protect the payment of any
debt incurred by the rebellion to define
the paramount authority of the General
Government to protect all persons in all
States, in their - rights before he law to
prevent compensation for emancipated slaves
and to establish an equal basis of represen
tation, and thus secure to the nation the
ust fruits of the war wantonly inaugurated
