Horrible Tragedy. 'In the
absence of Mr. and Mre. Todd from
their home at Paris, Jennings coun
ty Indiana, a short time since, a
man named v asn oage went to tne
house and stole a pocket-book that
he supposed contained money which
Mr. Todd had iust : received from
the sale of his farm. He then, to
conceal his crime, beat three little
children in a horrible manner, and
left them for dead. One of them
has since died, but the other two
recovered and revealed the circum
stances of the terrible affair, nnd
Sage was arrested. By a singular
blunder he took tne wrong poctet-
book, leaving the one with the
monev in it untouched. The stolen
property was found on his person,
and he confessed the shocking
deed.
