A dispatch from New Orleans states that the Rebel ram Webb ran past that city on the afternoon of the 24th nit. At first she displayed Union colors bat afterward substi tuted Confederate. She was, then fired up on and a 125 pound ball passed through her bow. Gunboats started in pursuit, but when 24 miles below the city she was fired by her crew and blown up. The crew sub aeqnently surrendered. Arizona advices of the 12th of April mention another fight with the Apaches, in which 12 Indians were killed, and one sol dier killed and one wounded. , The Indians of fll fiiJWt W. HoDkins. a member of the Arizona Legislature ; Carlos W.. Smith, one of the officers of that body, and several other whites had lately been murdered by the Indians. A letter has been found in Richmond, which proves the fact, that the steamer J. H. Russel, destroyed on the Mississippi in April 1864, was set on fire by an incendiary employed by one Stimson, under contract with the rebel authorities. The vessel and mtm was valued at $307,250, on which Stimsoo claimed a percentage of $55,725, The Copperhead Commissioners of York countr. Pa., refused to allow the County Court House to be draped in mourniDg, on the death of President Lincoln, who lost his life through the teachings of just such cop perheads as those commissioners. The peo ple took the matter in hand and draped the Court House, nevertheless. Charles P. Clarke, who has been teller in the Commercial Bank of Philadelphia ibr fifteen years, absconded on May 2d, being a defaulter to the amount of $300,000. Spec ulation, intending to return the money after he had used it, is the excuse for the defal cation. About 2,000 more parolled prisoners were at Vicksburg when the Sultana left. 3,' others were left at Andersonviile in conse quence of the railroad being destroyed be tween Andersonviile and Jackson. They will be sent to Annapolis by way of the sea Oregon papers mention the hanging of fif teen horse thieves and highwaymen in Wal la and Boise counties by lynch law within a short time. The vigilance committees had a list of one hundred and fifty rogues who will be driven out of the county or punished. Wade Hampton was the only General who refused to be included in Johnston's surren der. He was promptly relieved, and Gen. Baker put in command of his cavalry. Hamp ton left with Davis-and Breckinridge, who are said to be making for Mexico. It is said that many citizens of Virginia intend moving to the Northern States in the hope of so merging in the general popu lation as to escape the odium that attaches to them on account of their rebel proclivities. The infantry portion of Gen. Stoneman's command is cleaning the mountains in North Carolina and Tennessee of bushwhackers, guerrillas and horse thieves, and they are making clean work of it. A number of unemployed Generals will soon be mustered out of service. It is con templated to retain only about fifteen Major and sixty Brigadier Generals, and one hund red and fifty Colonels. The rebel ram Webb, ran out of Red riv er at a speed 35 miles an hour. Before etarting she took on 250 cords of wood, and 50 tons of pine knots. So says one who was on board. A steamer running on the Rappahannock was captured on 31 ay 1st, and proved to have several kegs of specie on board, which had been stolen in Richmond. The surrender of Johnston includes sixty eix general officers, ranking as follows : Full Generals 3, Lieut. Generals 5, Maj. Gener als 20, Brig. Generals 3S. A proclamation will soon issue, declaring vessels sailing under Confederate flags, pi rates. They are to be pursued, and if capt nred, treated as such. Ex-Governor Aiken, of South Carolina, it is said was arrested by order of President Johnson, based on his refusal to take the oath of allegiance. Admiral Chas. II. Bell, late of the Pacific squadron, has been placed in command at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Vice Admiral Paulding retired. Between three and four hundred millions of U. S. securities have found their way in to the hands of foreign capitalists princi pally German. Mining busines is prosperous in Califor nia. The deposits in the mint during A- pril were about $2,225,000. The crops al eo look well. Eleven hundred and sixty-five National Banks are now in operation, with a capital of two hundred and sixty-five millions. The subscription to the seven-thirty loan. , amounted to $5, 23 1 , 1 00 on Monday, May 2d. Pretty good days work.
