C'onsoudated, We see it stated that
the 57th and S4th Penn'a regiments have
l ien consolidated, and will hereafter .be
known as the 57th. By this an-angeuient
tliv.- old S 1th loses its identity as a regiment,
V.'e are sorry for this, as, perhaps, no sia
pie regiment in the Army of tiie Potomac
has done more hard marching, more hard
uitLicg, ana gauieu more uecisivo victories
over the rebels, and which more deserves to
re tain its distinctive organization to the end
of the war, than the S 4th. But, all honor
to the gallant boys of the S4th, and may
they ever maintain their well earned repu
tation as being of 'the bravest of the brave.'

OFFISH OP PllOfOST Marsuai.l,
Ridgway, Klk co.. Pa., January V, 1So5. ,
In yccordanco with Circular No. 152 of A. A.
Pro. Mar. Gens Office, Western Division of Penna,
tho Commissioners and Surgeon of the Board of
Enrollment of the lyth L-istriet of Penna. will
hold a session at the Court House, in the Borough
of Clearfield. for the purpo'O of correcting tho En
rollment Lists of Clearfield Co., on January the
2Uih, 27th, and 2oth
Citizens throughout the County arc earnestly
called upon to aid the officers in the discharge of
their duties, by giving till information bearing
upon this important subject.
It must bo distinctly understood by tho peoplo
that their only surety of a fair proportion of the
burden of the draft lies in tho proper oorreetion
of tho listjj.
Every name improperly left upon the lists,
swells disproportionately the quota. It is the du
ty therefore of each good citizen to bring before
tho Board every man, who, by reason of over age,
permanent phisical disability, or two years ser
vice, shall be entitled to have his uamo stricken
from the li.'ts; and idso to furnish to the Board
satisfactory evidence in cases of, death, removal,
JiC. Af, also, tho greater number of competent
men on' these lists, the less likelihood there is of
any particular one of them being drawn from the
wheel. Each citizen owes it to himself to sco
that tho name of every man in his Township who
is properly liable to draft, shall be on the lists
I would respectfully recommend t the different
sub districts the propriety of appointing Commit
tees to examine into all the cases requiring atten
tion, and bring the parties concerned, or tho evi
dence f their death or removal, before the Itoard.
An opportunity is now offered to all sub districts
Of correcting completely their Enrollment Lists,
It must be done, and should be distinctly under
stood that should another" draft bo subsequently
ordered, no notice whatever will be taken of com
plaints of Committees that their enrollment iists
are erroneous; nor will aiiy suspension -wif drift,
or alteration iu the quota be granted ton that plea.
