Five convicted prisoners in Fort Meilenry escaped on S uuday night ; one of them, named Comjitcn, was sentenced to be hfing ; another to fifteen years in the penitentiary, and the others to shorter terms. The names of the escaped prisoners, in addition to Comptou, who was convicted as a spy. are George .fl Shearer, L.' W. Dprsey, Janies Gubbiuo'; and. Eugen Lama the latter also sentenced to be hung as a spy. , . . The New York militia, tin anti cipation of a call from the Presi dent or Governor Seymour for three months service, profess themselves in readiness to ro, and are already bustling about their armories. It is understood that tho 7th, 8th and 71st regiments are prepared to start for Washington at an hour's notice.
