HOSTETTERS'
CELEBRATED
STOMACH BITTEKS,
A pure and .powerful Tonic, Corrective and
Altertve"61 "wonderful efneacy in
" disease of the
Stomach, Liver and Bowels.
Cures, Dyspepsia, Liver Complaint, Headache,
General Debility, Nervousness. Depression of
Spirits. Constipation, Colic, Intermittent
Fevers, Cramps and Spasms, and all
Complaintsof either Sex, arising
. from Bodily Weakness whether inherent in the
system or produced by special causes.
Nothing that is not wholesome, genial and re
storative in its nature enters into the composition
of Hostetter's Stomach Bitters. This popular
preparation contains no mineral of any kind, no
deadly botanical element; no fiery excitant; but
it is a combination of the extracts of rare balsam
ic herbs and plants with the purest and mildest
of all diffusive stitntftant.
It is well to be forearmed against disease, and,
so far as th-e human system can bo protected by
human means against maladies engendered by an
unwholesome atmosphere. Impure water and oth
er external causes, llostetter's Bitters may be re
lied on as a safeguard.
In districts infested with Frver ami Asrue, it has
been found infallible as a preventive and irresis
tible as a remedy and thousands who resort to it
under apprehension of on attack, escape the
scourge; and thousands who neglect to avail
themselves of its protective qualities in advance,
are cured by a vc'ry brief course of this marvel
ous ruediciue. Fever aud Ague patients, after be
ing plied with quinine for months in vain.uufU
fairly satured with that dangerous alkaloid, are
not unfrequently restored to health within a few
days by the use of Hostrtter Bitters. .
The weak stomach is rapidly invigorated an i
the appetite restored by this agreeable Tonic. and
hence it works wonders in cases of Dispepsia and
in less continued forms of ludigestion Acting as
a gentle and painless opponent, as well as upon
the liver, it also invariably relieves the Constipa
tion superinduced by irregular action of the di
gestive and secretive organs.
Persons of feeble habit, liable to Nervous At
tacks. Lowness of Spirits and Fits of Languor.find
prompt and permanent relief from the Bitters.
The testimony on this point is most conclusive,
and from both sexes.
The agony ofBillious Colic is immediately as
suaged by a single dose of the stimulent, and by
occasionally resorting to it the return of the com
plaint way be prevented. "
As a General Tonic ll'jstetter's Bitters produce
effects which must Be experienced or witnessed
before they can be fuily appreciated. Incasesof
Constitutional Weakness. Premature Decay and
Debility and Decrepitude arising from Old Age.
it exercises the electrio influence. In the conva
lesce t stages of all diseases it operates as a de
lightful invigorant. When the powers of nature
are relaxed, it operates to re-enforco and re-establish
them.
Last, but not least, it is the only safe Stimulent,
being manufactured from sound and innocuous
materials, and entirely free from the acid ele
ments present more or loss in all the ordinary
tonics ana stomachics of the day.
The immense increase in the sale of Tlostett'r'
Bitters, both at home and abroad, during the past
year proves that the world, while it obeys the
Scriptural injunction to -try ail things' only
"Holds fast to that which is good' Spurious
preparations, like poisonous fungi, are continual
ly springing up. but their character is soon dis
covered, and they are '-flung like worthless weeds
away." On the other hand, a great antidote that
performs all it promises, and even more than its
proprietors claimed for it on its iutroduction, is
-not for a day, but for all time."
.No family jiieiiicMiio has been so universally. and.
it may be truly added, deservedly popular with
tho intelligent portion of the community, as Hos
teller's Bitters.

These feelings which so sadden us usually arise
from trouble or annoyances, obstructed perspira

some, thus disturbing the healthful action of the
Liver and Stomach. These organs must be reliev
ed, if you desire to be well. The Pills taken ac
cording to the printeu instructions, will quickly
produce a healthy action in both Liver ana Stom
ach, and as a natural consequence, a clour head
and good appetite.
Weakness or Debility Induced by Over Fatigue
Will soon disappear by the use of these invalua

ditional strength Never let the Bowels be either
confined or unduly acted upon It may seem
strange, that llolloway's Pills should be recom
mended for Dysentery and Flux, many persons
supposing that they wuld increase the relaxation.
This U a great mistake, for these Tills will correct
the Liver and Stomach, and thus remove all the
acrid humors from the system. This medicine will
give tone and vigor to the whole organic system,
however deranged, while health and strength fol
low as a matter of course. Nothing will stop the
relaxation of the Bowels so sure as this medicine.
Volunteers, Attention 1-Indiscretions of Youth.
Sores and Ulcers, Blotches and Swellings, can
with certainty be radically cured, if the Pills are
taken night-and morning, and the Ointment be
freely used as stated in the printed instructions.
If treated in any other manner, they dry up in
one part to break out in another. Whereas this
Ointment will remove the humors from thesystem',
and leave the Patient a healthy and vigorous man.
It will require a little perseverauce in bad cases
to insure a lasting cure.
For Wounds either occasioned by the Bayonet,
Sabre, or the Ballet, Sores or Bruises.
To which every Soldier or Sailor are liable, there
are no medicines so safe, sure, and convenient, as
llolloway's Pills and Jintment. The poor wounds
