. LINES,
OS IBB DEATH OP MISS GEORGIANS H. WALTERS.
"Thou art gone to the grave, but we will de
plore thee,"
Since fate has consigned thcc, a rest with the
dead , . .
In a mansion of claj, lay the Saviour, before
thee,
The One that thou loTedst, our King and oe'r
Head.
Like the shadow that flits o'er tho lawn hi the
morning,
Or the Rose blooming fair on its rich parent
stem Is the young Christian spirit, departing for
Heaven,
To join the blest throng, and be ever with
them.
Thou wert lov'd in this life, by the friends that
still weep thee,
For Grace had its seat in thy tendcrest heart
And the angel of love, thy dear mother, still
watch d them,
Till death, the grim monster, had bid thee de
part.
Alas ! such is life, as decreed by high Ileav.
en
No lease for the joys of an hour or a day
" We are prone still to bask in the siinshhie of
pleasnre,
And fondly could wish that they'd ne'er fade
away.
But there's hope in the cap of the Savior's
salvation.
When drank in strong faith to His merits
alone
His promise is pore, and he never forsakes us.
When trusting in Him, all our sins He'll
atone.
Long, long shall wo cherish a fond recollec
tion, Of every endearment thy friendship made
sweet
And think of thy prayers and faith in believ
ing,
That all thy whole household in Ueaven will
meet.
The first Lord Eldon, in one of his shoot
jug excursions at Ware ham, came across a
person who was sport nig on Lis land without
leave ; his Lordship asked the stranger if he
knew he was tresspassing, and also inquired,
"Do you know who is the proprietor of this
estate ?' "What's that to you ?" was the re
ply ; "I suppose your one of Old Bag's keep
ers." "No," replied tho noblo Lord, "you
are under an illusion, I am Old Bags himself.'
Once on a time an Irishman and a negro
were fighting, and when grappling with each
other, the Irishman exclaimed :
"Yo divil of a black nngur ! cry enough, or
I'll fight till I die!"
"So'll 1, boss," sung ont the darkey, "I
alters does."
A man boasting in company of ladies that
he had a very luxurious head of hair, a lady
present remarked that it was altogether owing
to tho mellowness of tho soil.

AVER'S SARSAFARILLA, a compound
remedy, in which we have labored to produce
the most effectual alterative that can bo mado. It
is a concentrated extract of Para Snrsaparilla, so
combined with other substances of still greater.al
terative power as to afford an effectivo antidote for
the diseases Sarsaparilla is reputed to euro. It is
believed that such a remedy is wanted by those
who suffer from Strumous coai plaints, and that one
which will accomplish their cure must prove of
immense scrvico to this large class of our afflicted
fellow citizens. How completely thiscompound will
doit has been proven by experiment on many of the
worst cases tobefound of thcfollowingcomplaints:
Scrofula and Scrofulous complaints, Eruptions
and Eruptivo Diseases, Ulcers. Pimples, Blotches.
Tumors. Salt Rheum, Scald Head, Syphilis and
Syphilitic affections, Mercurial Disease, Dropsy,
Neuralgia or Tic Douloureux, Debility, Dyspcp.sia
and Indigestion, Erysipelas, P.oso or St. Antho
ny's Fire, and indeed tho wholo class of com
plaints arising from Impurity of tho Blood.
Thiscompound will be found a great promoter
of health, when taken in the spring, to expel the
foul humors which foster in the blood at that sea
son of tho year. By the timely expulsion of them
many rankling disorders arc nipped in the bud
Multitudes can, by tho aid of this remedy, spare
themselves from the endurance of foul eruptions
and ulcerous sores, through which the system will
strive to rid itself of corruptions, if not assisted to
do this through tho natural channels of the body
by an alterative medicine. Cleanse out the vitia
ted blood whenever you find its impurities burst
ing through the skin in pimples, eruptions, or sores;
cleanse it when you find it is obstructed and slug
gish in the veins; cleanse it whenever it is foul,
and your feelings will tell you when. Even where
no particular disorder is felt, people enjoy better
health, and live longer, for cleansing the blood.
Keep the body healthy, and all is well; but with
this pabulum of life disordered, thero can be
no lasting health. Sooner or later something
must go wrong, and the great machinery of
life is disordered or altogether overthrown.
Sarsaparilla has. and deserves much, tho repu
tation, of accomplishing those ends. But tho
world has been egregiously doceived by prepara
tions of it, partly becauso the drug alom has
not all the virtue that i3 claimed for it. but moro
becauso many preparations, pretending to bo
concentrrted extracts of it, contain but little of
the virtue of Sarsaparilla, or any thing else.
During late years the publia have been misled
by large bottles, pretending to give a quart of Ex
tract of Sarsaparilia for one dollar. Most of these
have been frauds upon the sick, for they not only
contain littlo, if any, Sarsaparilla. but often no cu
rative properties whatever, lience. bitter and pain
ful disappointment has followed the uso of tho va
rious extracts of Sarsaparilla which flood the mar
ket, until the name itself is justly despised, and
has become synonymous with imposition and cheat.
Still wo rail this compound Sarsaparilla, and
intend to supply mch a romcdy as shall rescue
the name from the load of obloquy which rests
upon it. And we tbiuk we have good ground for
believing it has virtues which are irresistable by
the ordinary run of tho diseases it is intended to
cure. In order to secure their complete eradica
tion fronvtho system, the remedy should be judi
ciously taken according to directions on the bottle.
