mors spread abroad by our political opponents,
that tho 'Daily Telegraph' would be discontinued
after tho election, we announce to the public that
wo shall not only continue its publication, but it
shall be done with renewed vigor and determina
tion to meet tho public expectations and wants.
The publishers will spare r.o labor or expense to
make it a paper eminently worthy of the capital
of Pennsylvania, and one which should be found
at every fireside in our borough
The 'Daily Telegraph' will contain the latest
news received by Magnetic Telegraph and Mails.
We shall give particular attention to our Local de
partment, and endeavor to make the Reports as
full and interesting as possible. The Editorial De
partment will be under tbe management of able
and experienced gentlemen, who, upon all ques
tions affecting the public, will express their opin
ions fairly and freely. Oar next Legislature will
be entrusted with several important duties the
election of United States Senator, the election of a
State Treasurer, the apportionment of the State,
Ac, which will niakc the proceedings unusually
interesting and important. The 'Telegraph' will
be ablo to present this and all other news transpi
ring at the State Capital much sooner and more
satisfactorily than any other paper in the State.
The 'Semi-Weekly and Weekly Telegraph' will
be published, as heretofore. We shall endeavor
to make the 'Weekly Telegraph' the best family
newspaper in the Mate, it will contain all the
latest news up to the hour of going to press. It
will con'aiu full reports of the markets in tho At
lantic cities. A portion of our columns will be de
voted to the interests of Agriculture and Mechan
ics. The 'Seini-Weokly' will bo publisaed only
during the soss'tons of the Legislature. Our efforts
shall bo to make tho Telegraph the model news
paper of the State.
TERMS : The Daily Telegraph will be furnish
ed at a distance for 51 per unnnm; 52 for six
months; or SI for three months. Single subscri
bers in the town will be furninhed at six cents per
week pnyablo weekly to tho carrier.
