BE ASSESSED
Do not forget to be assessed in time. The
election takes place in a few weeks, and in
order to vote you must be assessed ten days
before the election. Yon have therefore, BUT
LITTLE OVER A WEEK in which to be assessed.
SATURDAY,OCTOBER 2nd, IS THE LAST
DAY. Not only be assessed yourself, but
SEE THAT YOUR DEMOCRATIC NEIGH
BOR IS ASSESSED.—
OUTSIDE.
An unusual press Nf advertising favors,
which are always welcome, compels us this
morning to place onr editorial, news and oth
er reading matter upon the first and fourth
pages of our paper.
BOW TO ILMACH TELEILI
The Weekly Post will be put to press to.g
morrow. It has a circulation in all the
counties in Western Pennsylvania, and East
ern Ohio, which renders it the best advertis
ing medium where Democratic customers are
to be reached, which can be had in the west.
Established as it has been for more than half
a century, our Weekly paper enjoys a very
large circulation, reaching almost every town
and village, on the western slope of the Alle
gheny Mountains. The exceedingly low price
at which we have offered this mammoth
family newspaper, since July last, being only
ONE DOLLARIA YEAR IN C 1.11113 OF FIVE PERSONS,
has swelled its circulation to double what it
was eighteen months ago, when we com
menced to conduct it, and large accessions
arc being made to ?Err list each week. There
is no better medium to reach customers, now
published in the city, than the Weeekly Post.
THE REASON WHY.
It is a noticeable fact that the columns of
the True Press are by no means cumbered
with advertising, and the reason is•obvious.
Most of our merchants, manufacturers and
dealers have a well established credit in the
eastern cities, and they are not so foolish as
to tarnish it by giving countenance, aid and
comfort to such a paper as the Press.
Antonio & Wilder's Circus.
In this town a circus is the most univers
sally popular of all amusements, and the one
which commenced its exhibitions last night,
at Ben Trimble's Hotel, Penn street, is no
exception to the rule. The large canvai was
crowded, and the entertainment which Messrs.
Antonio & Wilder presented their patrons,
was a first class one. It is years since a bets
ter performance of acrobats and gymnasts
has been seen in this city, and the arenic
sports are all cleverly and artistically done.
The riding of Miss Mary Carroll is neat and
astonishing. The whole troupe please. A
day performance will be given at two o'clock
this afternoon, for the benefit of ladies and
children, who do not wish to come out at
night, and at seven o'clock this evening.
ChlekeringYs New upright Piano.
Mr. Mellor received yesterday from the
manufactory of Chickering & Sons, Boston,
which will be on exhibition at the Fair, one
of their new upright pianos. This is the
first and only one of these new pianos brought
to the city, and can only be seen at the Fair
in Domestic Hall, during the hours of exii
hibition.

Hall, Fifth street;
The Pittsburgh Theatre, on Fifth street,

Carnaghon's advertisement of men atld boys'
clothing will interest many. hie manufacture of
clothing has grown in popularity, from its neatness
of -style and durability. Buyers will find his prides
t avorable. •
