on the wash-board. 4th. Lolling the clothes Is unnecessary
when this Soap Is used, and hard or salt water answers
equally as well ae soft. 6th. Printers, Machinists, Painters
and others, find it far er.perlor to other Soaps. It speedily re
nieces grease, tar, paint, printers ink and dirt from the
hands, leaving the skin soft, and free from chapping.
To avoid the labor of rubbing the clothes, and the use of
the wash-bo.,rd, the following directions should be followed :
For the washing of eight or ton of is family, tithe one
pound of cot It into shavings, and dissolve in one
gallon of hot water; put the clothes Into a tub coatnining
about ten gallons of werm Pe - or in. the dissolved
Soap, and stir thorcughlY. Let Mora souk twenty to thirty
minutes, wring out, and rinse in warm wafer once, cold
water twice. A. very dirty wrist-band, or seam, or grease
spots, may require a slight rubbing, but otherwise the
clothes will come out clean and white, without robbing or
boiling. Cold water may be mead to plare o' hot, retituring
about double time iti soaking.
