To avoid the labor et rubbing thb clothes, and the use of the wash-board, the following dlrectioturshould be followed : For the washing of eight or ten of a family, take cue pound of Soap, cut it Into shavings, and dissolve in one gallon of hot water; put toe chitin. Into a tub containing about ten gallons of warm water; poor in the dissolved Soap, and stir thoroughly. Let them soak twenty to thirty minutes, wring out, and rinse in warm water once, cold water twice. A very dirty wrist-band, or scam, or grease spats, may require a slight rubbing, but otherwise the clothes will come out clear and white, without robbing or boiling.
