Police hems—Alderman Rogers, on Saturday
night, sent one man and threo women, all colored,
to prison as vagrants and disorderly.
Frank Ku°lin, who keeps a meat shop on Felton
street, was brought 1“Iroro Alderman Rogers on Sat•
urday, and fined $lO for selling putrid meat to a
child, and when it was returned by the parent refus
'ed to take it back. The residents in that vicinity
should refuse to purchase of him hereafter. The
same individual was charged with paSsing a coun
terfeit half dollar, but on a hearing the Alderman de
cided that, although the meat was bogus, the money
was not, and the latter charge was dismissed.
In the watch house on Sunday morning there were
no less than thtrty-ono tenants, all charged with
drunkenness, vagrancy or disorderly conduct. They
wore a sorry let, and were disposed of according to
their demerits.
A young blood of the ci y, are informed, re.

ward. As no information has been made, we pre

From Thos. Elackmore, Esg, Treasurfir of Allegheny
To I a. R. A. Wnaort.—Dear Sir: I have been using your
Pills since 1840, and do decidedly say' they are the best Pill
to nee, or that I have any knowledge of. I first used them
for "sick headache," with which I suffered beyond descrip.
[ion ; I am happy to say, that thOy entirely cured me. Since
then I rise them as a family medicine: if I am bWons, or
anything ails me, and I require medlo'ne, I take a Pill,and
It cures me; they are my only medicine, and have been for
the last seventeen years. THOS. DLAOKMOItE.

Mrssas. B. L. FAUN/MOOR a Co—l have had considerable
experience in the use of the extraordinary Pill compounded
by Dr. R. Adams Wilson, of which you are now the propri
etors, and have often fait their benign influence in my own
case for "nervous headache," arising from a disordered con•
dition of the stomach. I have likewise prescribed them for
others, in cases of " homicrania" and other forms of head.
ache depending on a deranged and irritable condltionof the
stomach and digestive organs, of which they seem peculiar
ly adapted, being entirely free .rom any griping tendency.
I regard them as a very valuable Pill, and one that purges
withont at all debilitsring. Yours truly,

PILOY. 0. J. Wood—Dear Sir :—I have board mach said of
the wonderful effects of your Hair Restorative, but having
been so often cheated by quackery and quack nostrums,
hair dyes, &c., I was disposed to place your Restorative in
tho name category with the thousand and one loudly trum
peted quack remedies, until I met you in Lawrence county
some months since, when you gave me such assurance as
induced the trial of your Restorative in my family—drat by
my good wife, whose hair had become very thin and en
tirely white, and before exhausting one of your large bot
tles, her hair was restored nearly to its original beautiful
brown color, and bad thickened and become beautifill and
glossy upon, and entirely over the head; she continues_ to
use it, not simply because of its beautifying effects upon
the hair, but because of its healthful influence upon the
head and mind. Others of my family and friends are using
your Restorative, with the happiest effects herders, my
skepticism and doubts in reference to its character and
value are entirely removed; I can and do and most cor
dially and confidentially recommend its use by all who
would have their hatr restored from tibias or gray (by re*

all young persons woo would have their hair beautiful and
