LOCAL AFFAIRS.
Sharp Procsicc.---We have heard a story of a potty
thief who stele an umbrella from a front ball door
and then went around to the kitchen door and sold
it. An incident which casts this in the shade occur
red a day or two since in Lawrenceville. A gentle
man, there resident, has a fine field of corn in the
rear of his house, large enough to supply hie family
with roasting ears. A woman, not having a proper
appreciation_of the right of ownership, appropriated
a large baaket full of the corn and then want imme
diately into hie house and sold a couple of dozen of
tho ears to his lady for cash. When the gentleman
found it out he " acknowledged the corn " and let
the old woman off with a sharp reprimand to keep off
his premises.
