To avoid the labor of rubbing the clothes, and the US:: of
the wash-board, the following directions should ho foliowed ;
For the washing of eight or ton of a family, babe one
pound of Soap, cut it into shavings., and dissolve in ono
gallon of hot water; put the clothes tato a tub containing
about ten gallons. of warm water; pour In the dissolved
Soap, and stir thoroughly. Let Os.:u tottit twenty to thirty
minutes, wring out, and rinse in warm water once, cold
water twice. A very dirty wrist-land, or seam, or grease
state, may require is slisht ruts log, but oterwise the
clothes will come out clean and walie, without rubbing or
