To avoid the labor of rubbing the clothes, and the use of
the wash-beard, the following directions should be followed :
For the washing of eight or ten of a family, mite one
pound of Soap, cat it Into shavitiga, and dissolve la ono
gallon of hot water; put the clothes into a tub containing
about ten gallons of warm water; pour in the disdolved
Soap, and ctir thoroughly. Let atilt twenty to thirty
minutes, wring out, and rinse in warm water mice, cold
water twice. A ye;; dirty wrlie-iand, or ease, or grease
epcta, may require a slight ruiiiiing, lea; otherwise the
clothes will come on; clone and whim, without rubbing or
boiling. Cold water may be used lu place el lest, reepr ring
about double time in soaking.
