cent developments In New York, of the frauds practiced by
'• old Dr. IL Jame the " retired physician, whose sands of
life have nearly run out," and of Dr. Uncss Prant," and
others, seem to render it a inure suitable time than usual,
to expose such tricts.ry, and vindicate our own character;
and it is the more incumbent upon as to do so, inasmuch as
t`Je opinion prevails that the distione,ty 13 confined to the
eastern oities;—s:i far from this being true there are scores of
itinerant doctora in this and the States farther West, who
literally rob invalids, riot only of their money, but of their
vory lives, fur they prevent them from procuring proper
t^eatiliont in time.
.V.O-6t of these traveling doctors take advantage of the pre

inhalati.ns; and either profess to be connected with our
selves, (some even having assumed our very names,) or some
eastern physician of great repute, or else with some far off

plans their health and lives in charge of incompetent and
unprincipled men-.
We have for some time been shrinking from this nnpless

be the means of saving some from being deceived.
In conclusion, it is proper to repeat, as we have so o:ten
