Soap, and stir thoroughly. Let them soak twenty to thirty
minutes, wring out, and rime in warm water once, curd
water twice. A very dirty wrist-band, or swan, or grease
sputa, may require a slight rubbing, but otherv,i, the
clothes will-come out clean- and white, without robbing or
boiling.• Gold water may be used in place of hot, requiring
about double time in soaking.
