ARRIVAL OF THE STEAMER INDIAN TERRIBLE TORNADO, Etc., ' Etc., Etc From Washington WASHINGTON CITY, June 1 —The President sent to the Senate, in response to resolution, documents in relation to the Pauachita case. Among the letters is ono from Mr. Dallas to the Earl of Clarendon, of Sept. 16th last, in which he says : " Against each leading feature characterizing this transaction, the visit, search and seizure, the government o: the United States has uniformly on all appropriate op portunities, for more than fifty years, openly and of fectually protested, us inconsistent with the law of nations, sanctioned by no treats, subversive of the separate rights, and derogatory to the honor of itde pendent communities. It was not the exercise of any fancied privilege of war, for a profound peace prevailed, and yet without pretence of belligerent necessity in respect to contraband or blockade, the property of the citizens of a friendly power was in vaded and arres'ed, and the protection of their na• tional symbol irreverently slighted. Captain Morse ly's conduct, it appears, was disclaimed and censured, and he was withdrawn from the African station as unfit to be trusted there, and express orders were given by the Admiralty, which Mr. Dallas says must prevent the repetition of such acts. The response of the President to the resolutions of the House calling for information relative to the outrages committed by British cruisers in the Gulf, is similar to that of the Senate, with a few additions in verification of the visitations. It appears that where there is a newspaper or other tangible report in each cases, the State Department immediately writes to the Collector of Customs most likely to procure reliable information, for a sworn statement of the facts. Lord Napier has desired that hie despatches to Admiral Stewart, commanding the British squadron in the Gulf, sent from Washington yesterday, be forwarded from Halifax by a special steamer to Ber muda. He has advised the Admiral to order the discontinuance of the visitation of American vessels, pending the instructions of Her Majesty's Govern ment. Arrival of the Hammonla. New Yortn, June I.—The steamship Hammonia, from Hamburg and Southampton, has arrived. The f'arliatuentary proceedings are unimportant. The debate on the Indian bill had been adjourned till the 18th. Telegraphic despatches of later news from India had beon received. Aguyllier has beon relieved, and the rebels defeated near Futimghier with great loss. Telegraphic despatches from Bombay, received at Malta state that Azinuhur was relieved on the 15th of April by Gen. Lugard with but trifling loss. Brig. Gen. Seaton defeated the rebels neer Futtinghur, killing and wounding three hundred, capturing guns and ammunition. A body of rebels in Msltpoora mountains wore also defeated. A large body of Beet,is had also been defeated in Santpore hills, and five hundred wore captured; the British loss was se vere, including five ,efact Gen.
