of Mr. Julio Breckenridge, of Shenango township, (dLoet

The New Theatre.
The opening of .ro,ter's New National Theatre last even
ing was an immense success. The house woo well filled.
and the audience seemed highly pleased with the arrange
ments. Before the commenceur•at of the first piece, Julia
M. Cooke made her appearance before the curtain and re
cited, in her best style, an opening address, written by a
gentleman of this city expressly for the occtwiou. At its
.conclusion, iu compliance with the vcciferations of the
irant_ace. Coy. Foster made hie appearance and expressed
his thanks in a few brief and appropriate remarks. Apn -
looted call, continuing nearly live minutes, was then made
for "Old Bailey," who very properly refused to comply.
The "The School for Scandal" was then peformed, tied
well done, too. The stock cutnimuy is the best that has up
peered in this city fur a number of years. As each of the
old Pittsburgh favorites appeared they were greet. d v. hit

merits of the actors, but shall refer to them hereafter. At
the conclusion of tile comedy, Mr. Bailey was called out,
and in a few brief remarks, thanked the audience for their
kind reception of him.

Mercy Hospital. A mare deserving institution could not be
