Sawyer, re. receives the preference over all other kinds ever offer. d fir family use. Its advantages over other Soaps are :—lst It is cl.eaper to use, one pound being equal to three of common rosin Soap. 2d. Half the time need only be voccipied in washing when this Soap is used in place of other Soap. 3d Lab. ,r iu washing can be nearly d.epeosed with, as the chitties will require little if any rubbing, thus avoiding their wear on the wash-board. 4th. Boiling the clothes is unnecessary when this Soap is used, and bard or salt water answers equally as well as soft. sth. Printers, Machinists, Painters and others, find it far sup rior to other Soaps. It speedily ro moves grease, tar, paint, printers' ink and dirt from the hands, leaving the skin soft, and free from chapping. To avoid the labor of rubbing the clothes, and the use of the wash-boad, the following directions should be followed : For the washing of eight or ten of a family, take one pound of Soap, cut it into shavings, and dissolve in one gallon of hot water; put tue clothes into a tub containing about ten gallons of warm water; pour in the dissolved Soap, and stir thoroughly. Let them sink twenty to thirty minutes, wring out, and rinse in warm water once, cold water twice. A very dirty wrist-band, or seam, or grease spas, may require a slight rubbing, but otherwise the clothes will come out clean and white, without rubbing or boiling. Cold water may be used in place of hot, requiring about double time in soaking. 4ltar - Observe our name on each bar. It matters not from. what cause the disease origins, ted, however long standing or obstinate the case, recovery Ls certain, and in a shorter time than a permanent cure can be effected by any other treatment, even after the disease has baffled the skill of eminent physicians and resisted ail the r means of cure. The medicines are pleasant, without odor, causing no sickness and free from mercury or balsam. Dur ing twenty years of practice, I have rescued from the jaws of death many thousands, who, in the last stages of the above mentioned diseases had been given up to die by their physicians, which warrants me is promising to the afflicted, who may place themselves under my care, a perfect and moat speedy cute. Secret diseases are the grea.est enemies to health, as they are the first cause of Consumption, Scro fula and many other diseases, and should be a terror to the human family. As a permanent cure is scarcely ever effect ed, a majority of the cases falling into the hands of incom potent persona, who not only tail to cure the diseases but ruin the constitution, Illhog the system with' mercury, which, with the disease, hastens the sufferer into a rapid Consumption. But should the disease and the treatment not cause death speedily, and tho victim marries, the disease is entailed upon the children, who are born with feeble constitutions, and the current of life corrupted by a virus which betrays itself in Scrofula, Totter, Ulcers, Eruptions and other affec tions of the skin, eyes, throat and lungs, entailing upon them a brief existence of suffering and consigning them to an early grave. SEES abbsE is another formidable enemy to health, for nothing else iu the dread catalogue of human diseases causes so destructive a drain upon the system, drawing its thou ' sands of sictms through u few years 01 Buttering down to an untimely grave. It destroys the nervous system, rapidly wastes away the energies of lite, causes mental derangement, prevents the proper development of We system, disqualifies for marriage, society, business, and all earthly happiness, and leaves e sufferer wretched in body sad mind, prsslis I posed to Consumption and a train of evils more to be dreaded than death itself. With the fullest confidence 1 as sure the unfortunate victims of Seff-Abuse that a permanent and speedy cure can be effected, and with the abandonment of ruinous practices my patients can be restored to robust, vigorous health. Tne afflicted are cautioned against the use of Patent Medi cines, for there are so many ingenious snares in the columns of the public prima to catch and rob the unwary sufferers that millions have their constitutions ruined by the vile compounda . of quack doctors, or the equally poisonous 1103. triune vended as "Patent Medicines." I havo carefully anos lysed many of these called Patent Medicines and find that nearly all of them contain Corrosive Sublimate, which is one of the strongest preparations of mercury and a deadly poison, which instead of curing the disease disables the sys tem fur life. ittoburgh. 90c. gi 100 1)5 75c. 14 100 be 135 c 76 100 60c.' 100 1S 5 7 Thursday Aug. 6.
