The prevalence of diseases to- which the German Bitters are adapted, it is with sorrow we say it, is al most universal; indeed there is sturcely a family throughout the whole extent of our country in which there cannot be found among its members that peculiar sallow and languid appearance denoting a diseased Liver, or an emaciated azd suffering Dyspeptic. Then of what immense importance co this class of in sal d that a certain and reliable remedy should be placed wk hl their reach; one in which no baneful or injurious drug ea sere into its composition • a remedy on which the patient Cell rely with the utmost confidence and ter tainty , and be assured trom actual and tangible proofs that the article he is using really possesses the virtu, a attributed to it. Thousands dollars have been expended in its manufacture and diffusion throughout all parts of this continent, and the proprietor feels the greatest satisfaction in stating that there is at state, county, or even village, where the Medicine has best introduced, that there cannot be found numbers willing testify to its virtues. It is used constantly in the practice of a liu-ge number o the most prominent Physimane in the country, who have also added their written testimony in evidence of its great virtuos. In conclusion, then, we would resl.ectfully ask of all those afficted with any of the above di.3....ises to give tlak Bitters a trial, and rest assured at will nes r be regrette.l. Secret diseases are the greatest enemies to health, as they are the first cause of Consumption, Scro fula and many other diseases, and should be a terror to the human family. As a permanent cure is scarcely ever effect ed, a majority of the asses falling into the hands of incom petent persons, who not only fail to cure the diseases but ruin the constitution, tilling the system with mercury, which, with the 'disease, hastens the sufferer into a ramd Consumption. But should the diteaso and the treatment not cause death speedily, and the victim Marries, the disease is entailed upon the children, who are born with feeble couatitution., and the current of life corrupted by a virile which betrays itself In Scrofula, Totter, Ulcers, Eruptions and other affec tions of the skin, eyes, throat and lungs, entailing upon them a brief existence of suffering and consigning them to an early grave. • SELF ABUSE is another formidable enemy to health, fo , f nothing else in the druid catalogue of human diseases causes BO destructive a drain upon the system, drawing its thou sands of victims through a few years of Bath:ring down to an untimely grave. It destroys the nervous system, rapidly wastes away the energies of life, causes mental derangement, prevents the proper development 01 the system, disqualifies tor marriage, society, business. and all earthly happiness, and leaves the sufferer wretched iu body and mind, pr:alis• posed to Cousunmtion and a train of evils more to be dreaded than death itself. With the fullest confidence I as sure the unfortunate victims of Self-Abuse that a permanent end speedy cure can be effected, and with the abandonment of ruinous practices my patients can be restored to robust, vigorous health. Tue afflicted are cautioned against the use of Patent Medi. nines, for there ore so Many ingenious snares in the columns of the public prints to catch and rob the unwary sufferers that millions have their constitutions ruined by the vile compounds of quack doctors, or the equally poisonous nos trums vended as Patent Medicines." I have carefully ana lysed many of these called Patent Medicines and find that nearly all of them contain Corrosive Sublimate, which is one of the strongest preparations of mercury and a deadly poison, which instead of curing the disease disables the sys tem for life. 90c. cp 100 fl 75c. %1 100 Zs 65C.
